Memory

Memory lets Cue keep useful facts about you and your work for later conversations on Cue OS. Native Cue agents on the same account share typed memories, and the web gives you one place to search, correct, and delete them.

What you can do

• Ask Cue to remember a preference or a project fact.
• Search the memories saved to your account.
• Edit a memory that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete one memory, or clear all of them.
• Keep separate local memory files for one agent or one project folder with Cue CLI.

On the web

1. Open Cue OS and sign in.
2. Open your account menu, choose Settings, then Personalization.
3. Type in the search box under Memory to find a fact. Results can take a moment to appear.
4. Open the three-dot menu on a memory and choose Edit. Change the text and select Save.
5. To remove one memory, choose Delete from the same menu. It is removed right away, with no confirmation step.
6. To remove everything, open the menu beside the Memory heading and choose Delete all memories. You are asked to confirm, and this cannot be undone.

To add a memory, ask Cue in chat, for example: "Remember that I prefer short meeting summaries." Then search for it under Memory. Not every chat message becomes a memory, so check that the fact was saved.

On iPhone and Android

The iPhone and Android apps are coming; store review is pending. You can use Cue OS in your phone browser now.

1. Open Cue OS in your phone browser and sign in.
2. Follow the web steps above to search, edit, or delete memories.

With Cue CLI

cue memory manages local memory files for one agent on your computer, or for the current project folder. It is not an editor for the full memory list on your account; use the web for that. When an agent is tied to your account, its agent-level memories can sync with your account when the agent runs. Project-level memories stay on your computer.

1. List and read an agent's memories:

   cue --agent <agent> memory list --json
   cue --agent <agent> memory show <slug>

2. Save a preference for that agent. The type is one of user, feedback, project, or reference:

   cue --agent <agent> memory save summary-style --type user --body "Prefer short meeting summaries."

3. Save a fact for the current project folder only:

   cue --agent <agent> memory save project-notes --scope project --type project --body "The sample notebook cover is green."

4. Remove an entry you no longer want:

   cue --agent <agent> memory rm <slug>

Limits today

• Shared memory covers native Cue agents on one account. It is not one memory shared with every outside tool or model.
• Deleting a memory on the web has no undo.
• Correcting a memory does not change earlier messages in a conversation. Ask Cue to use the corrected fact and check the answer.
• The phone apps do not have their own memory editor yet; use the web in your phone browser.
